Hyderabad, June 08: It is known that The Andhra Pradesh Government will be introducing GPS tracking system by July end this year, curb the illegal sand mafia in Ap State.

But still, some of the persons are allegedly doing sand mafia and enters into Telangana also.



According to the sources, Sand Mafia which has been extensively spread in AP has raised its head in Telangana.

It is learned that some Andhra Pradesh contractors have started their illegal sand mafia at the Tungabhadra river bed in Jogulamba Gadwal district.

Undavalli SI reached the spot which is at AP Telangana border and threatened them with a gun while warning them to stop digging.

They didn't fear Telangana SI despite his drawing the gun and the SI had to leave the place as he couldn't stop the mafia.

This incident is an example of AP sand mafia's deliberation.

Earlier, State minister R Sujayakrishna Ranga Rao while addressing a press conference, said:

"Andhra Pradesh government is about to bring GPS tracking system by the end of July 2018 to prevent illegal transport of sand in the state. The government is taking stern actions to avoid interstate illegal transport of sand. After the Government of Andhra Pradesh has implemented free sand policy, reports of the sand mafia are on rife."
