Telangana: Hyderabad in next 24 hours

Hyderabad, June 05: In a major relief from summer heat, The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the Southwest monsoon is most likely to reach Hyderabad in the next 24 hours.

While the monsoon has already reached the southern cities of Chennai and Bengaluru, it is expected to arrive in Hyderabad between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening.

A warning has also been issued regarding heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds across parts of Telangana. The city recorded moderate rainfall in some parts with the maximum rainfall of 15.5 mm recorded at Ibrahimpatnam.

According to the IMD officials, the rainfall in Hyderabad has exceeded normal figures since June 1 as a total of 9 mm of average rainfall was recorded for the city over the four days, 27 percent in excess of the average at this time of the year.
