India latest: China admires Narendra Modi

Hyderabad, June 04: China expressed its concern over Prime Minister Modi's overtures to India-China relations.

Speaking at the 'Asia's Premier Defense and Strategic Affairs' Conference during Singapore's visit, Modi said both India and China have displayed "maturity and wisdom" in managing issues and ensuring a peaceful border, adding cooperation between the world's two populous countries was expanding. He said the sides are dealing with coordination among other things, along with the border issue.

Chinese Foreign Secretary Hua Chunying said, "Modi's remarks about Indo-China bilateral relations are a delight. He said they appreciate such a response to strengthening relations between the two countries.

Recalling the informal summit between Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at Wuhan in April this year, Hua said, "They had in-depth exchange of views on the international landscape and bilateral relations and reached any consensus."
