Bus driver suspended for doing this while driving; video viral

Karimnagar, June 02: In a shocking video, A bus driver in Telangana's Karimnagar district panicked the passengers onboard by engaging himself in checking WhatsApp messages while steering.

A passenger videographed the driver's misdeed and posted on social media, prompting the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) officials to punish him for taking the lives of



The episode happened on May 29 on the Huzurabad – Jammikunta route. But, it came to light on Friday (June 1), after the video went viral on social media.

The video shows driver G Srinivas completely involved in checking messages holding the mobile phone in his right hand and laying the left hand on the steering. Fortunately, the road was free.

There were about 45 passengers, according to the officials. He was concentrating on checking the messages, now and then paying attention to the steering and road.

TSRTC Huzurabad depot manager Bhukya Dharam Singh told Mirror that Srinivas was withdrawn from duties soon after the video has reached the senior officials.

"Today, he came to attend duties. But, we did not assign him any duty. He has been placed under suspension pending enquiry". Singh maintained that all the drivers have been advised not to attend calls or messages while driving.

Karimnagar police took notice of the instance and registered a case against Srinivas for negligent behaviour.
