YSR Congress to organise 'Vanchana pi Garjana'

Vijayawada, May 30: The Andhra Pradesh opposition YSR Congress Party has announced that it will organize 'Vanchana pi Garjana', at Nellore on June 2 to protest against the failure of the Central and State governments in granting Special Category Status (SCS) to the State.

The Vanchana pi Garjana programme is as part of the ongoing struggle for SCS and will be attended by the five MPs who had resigned, besides party MLAs, MLCs and other leaders to highlight the failures of the Central and State Governments and how the party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been fighting for the issue despite all odds.

Hitting out at the TDP, which was part of the NDA coalition for four years, he said that the party had failed to pursue the issue when in power. He added that the TDP MPs did not join the struggle wholeheartedly even after quitting the coalition.

TDP's Mahanadu in Vijayawada looked like a village fete and people were making merry instead of looking at the serious issues the State was facing, he said adding that the Chief Minister failed to fulfill even a single poll promise made during the elections.
