Nizamabad: B.tech girl attempts suicide

Nizamabad, May 28: Here is a drastic incident has happened while, a B.Tech third year girl student made suicide attempt by pouring kerosene on herself at Makloor Mandal headquarters of Nizamabad district, after being deceived and mentally harassed by her lover through social media.

The victim identified as Racharla Ramya Krishna (21), is a resident of Makloor Mandal headquarters and studying BTech third year at Vijay Engineering College in Nizamabad. She was allegedly in relation with one Kona Prasad of Makloor village from last three years, who is now in Kuwait. Prasad is already married and has two children.

Although he is in Kuwait, he continued to harass Ramya over phone to marry him. He intensified his harassment after he got to know that Ramya's parents were in search of an alliance for their daughter.

Prasad threatened Ramya to post her photographs on social networking sites. When she still resisted, Prasad reportedly uploaded Ramya and her friends' photos and phone numbers on a porn website. Following this, Ramya poured kerosene and set herself on fire.

Vexed with his attitude, Ramya made the suicide attempt at her house. She was rescued by her family members. But the girl had received 90 percent burns and her condition is said to be critical.

It's learned that Ramya in her statement said that Prasad drugged her and took her photographs. Even he was in Kuwait, Prasad used to threaten her to make video calls or else he will reveal the photographs of her. She wanted Prasad to be hanged till death.

Makloor police registered a case and are investigating.
