Congress blames TRS Govt over petrol prices hike

Hyderabad, May 25: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has blamed TRS government for Telangana having the highest petrol prices among 23 other States in the country.

At a press conference here on Thursday, chief spokesperson Sravan Dasoju alleged that the State government was taking advantage of Prime Minister Narender Modis pro-oil firms policy by covertly 'imposing heavy taxes on petrol and diesel which today stands at 35.2% on petrol and 27% on diesel.

He said that the Telangana Government has increased the burden to tune of Rs. 3,025 crore on common by increasing taxes on petrol and diesel. Sravan demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao reduce the taxes so as to reduce the burden on common man.
