Congress-JDS government wins trust vote

Bangalore, May 25: Newly sworn-in Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JDS alliance government won the crucial trust vote on Friday. Just ahead of the floor test, BJP MLAs staged a walk out of the State Legislative Assembly paving way for an easy win for the HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government in Karnataka.

From this aspect, 117 MLAs voted in favour of the ruling alliance led by Kumaraswamy.

"I have listened to Mr. Yeddyurappa's speech carefully. But he has given wrong information and used impolite words in the house. I will not indulge in personal attacks. Listening to him, I feel the people will not give the BJP power and his speech was perhaps a rehearsal for some drama company, The New CM said.

Just before the floor test, Congress' Ramesh Kumar was unanimously elected as the speaker after the BJP withdrew its candidate's nomination.
