Hyderabad, May 23: Here is a bad news for beer lovers, who will have to shell out more from their pockets as the Telangana State government on Tuesday increased beer prices with immediate effect.
With the hike of the basic prices by 10 percent on light beer and 11 percent on strong beer, the cost of the beverage had been increased by Rs 10 from the existing price structure.
State Excise and Prohibition department officials said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave his nod to the long pending increase of the beer prices.
This will help the government to generate nearly Rs 100 crore additional revenue from the sale of beer every month. In Telangana, beer is being supplied in the bottles containing 650 ml and 300 ml to the consumers.
