Twist in Karnataka CM Post, Congress offers JDS CM post

Bangalore, May 15: Bharatiya Janata party (BJp) looks set to form the next government in Karnataka as the saffron party has been inching towards the halfway(Majic Number) mark. But things have become a little complicated now.

After initial trends, at one time, BJP even crossed the halfway mark and touched 116 seat mark, but now BJP appears short of a few seats to achieve magic number of 112.

This means JD(S) becomes a kingmaker in this situation. According to reports, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has got in touch with JD (S) chief Deve Gowda and offered Chief Minister post to the party. JD(S) core committee meeting has been called in Bangalore to discuss the future course of action.

Congress state president G Parameshwara addressing the media persons in Bengaluru confirmed that the party has reached out to the JD(S) leadership and offered their support. Confirming the same, the outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, "We will support JD(S) to form a government."
