Is Narendra Modi- Amit Shah strategy worked out?

New Delhi, May 15: As we knew that, BJP was leading the Karnataka Elections, here Karnataka voters have stuck to their traditional pattern of voting. Since the mid-1980s, they never voted the incumbent government back to power. The 2018 Assembly elections show the pattern continues.

According to the details, In 2013 Assembly elections, the Congress won 122 seats, while the BJP and JD(S) shared 40 seats each. What helped the Congress was a three-way split within the BJP leading to the birth of BS Yeddyurappa's KJP and B Sriramulu’s BSR. This delivered a big blow to the BJP, dashing its hopes and driving down its vote share.

An overconfident Congress, that followed the traditional methods of campaigning based on caste and sub-caste calculations, has now paid a heavy price.

In result, The poll outcome shows the campaign rallies addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah have worked, and Modi continues to command his influence over a large chunk of voters.

The Rahul Gandhi-Siddaramaiah duo has not been able to contain the BJP's juggernaut. Clearly, the BJP’s electoral strategies -- identifying the Congress, not JD(S) as the main rival, praising the JD(S) boss H.D.Deve Gowda in public fora and secretly encouraging parties such as BSP and MEP to eat into the traditional Congress votes have worked.

This is as much a win for the BJP’s electoral strategies as for its individual candidates, some of whom have demonstrated a stunning performance.
