Massive amount of Money seized ahead Karnataka Elections

Bengaluru, May 11: The Karnataka legislative assembly election campaigns have been ended on Thursday and all parties are trying to attract voters in illegal routes.

In Karnataka, there are 224 constituencies and the election has been postponed due to the death of Jayanagara candidate Vijaya Kumar in Bengaluru. In the remaining 223 constituencies, major parties are making efforts to tamper with voters on Saturday. In this regard, cash, liquor and other gifts are being sent to woo voters.

On the other hand,Election Commission has arranged strict rules to prevent such actions. The election officials in association with Income Tax officials have seized Rs 2.17 crore from a Ballari registered Scorpio vehicle at Eddala Bhommanahatti village of Molakalmuru taluk on Friday.

After the release of the Karnataka election schedule, Rs 80.91 crore cash and Rs 24.36 crore worth of liquor was seized in IT, police and the Abkari sectors. Gold, silver worth Rs 44.26 crore were Seized.

Totally Rs 176 crore worth money and jewellary was confiscated by IT officials.
