Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi

New Delhi, May 09: According to the sources, Tremors were felt in parts of north India, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake was reported from the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border.

"Tremors of an earthquake were felt for some seconds at 4.11 pm," an official at the Meteorological Office said.

The earthquake shook buildings in Afghan capital Kabul, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, reported Reuters.

People in Delhi and the NCR region reported feeling light earthquake tremors.

According to the United States Geological Survey or USGS, the earthquake struck near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, at a depth of 111.9 kilometres.

Many took to Twitter immediately after they felt the tremors.
