Upasana Kamineni about Impaired Girl Child Project

Hyderabad, May 04: Ram Charan's wife, Upasana Kamineni, Apollo Hospital Foundation chairman, said that her Husband played a deaf character role play in 'Rangastham' film, through which she got to know the disability of hearing.

She participated in the third anniversary of Hearing Impaired Girl Child Project at Apollo Medical College. A video was posted on her Instagram account.

The celebration, held at the Apollo Medical College auditorium, was also attended by Apollo Foundation vice chairperson Upasana Kamineni, SAHI joint secretary Dr. Sunita Reddy, ENT surgeon Dr. EC Vinaya Kumar and other dignitaries.

"We were anguished to realize that the majority of parents were willing to sell the property to get their sons treated, but not their daughters. Girl children from underprivileged families are ignored when it comes to costly medical care, which is why we launched a project exclusively for girl children," Upasana said.

The players – Rashid Khan, Carlos Brathwaite, Sandeep Sharma and Siddarth Kaul – joined the celebrations of these children who are beneficiaries of Hearing Impaired Girl Child Project (HIGCP), an initiative of the Apollo Hospitals and SAHI.

"There is nothing more remarkable for cricketers who achieve so much on the field than to be here," said Moody after felicitating some of the young girls.
