New Delhi, April 19: Senior BJP leader Dharampal Choudhary, a sitting legislator from Mundawar Assembly segment, passed away after a liver ailment due to swine flu at a hospital in Gurugram in the wee hours of Thursday, his family said.
The last rites of the three-time MLA will be performed this evening at his ancestral village Jat Behror in Mundawar area of Alwar.
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje condoled the death of Choudhary, saying it was a personal loss for the entire BJP family.
In a series of tweets, she said Choudhary was a popular and active leader of Alwar and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
Sixty-four-year-old Choudhary, diagnosed for swine flu and later liver diseases, was getting treatment at the private hospital for about a month.
He was a three-time MLA from Alwar district--in 2003, 2008 and 2013.
