Senior BJP leader passed away

New Delhi, April 19: Senior BJP leader Dharampal Choudhary, a sitting legislator from Mundawar Assembly segment, passed away after a liver ailment due to swine flu at a hospital in Gurugram in the wee hours of Thursday, his family said.

The last rites of the three-time MLA will be performed this evening at his ancestral village Jat Behror in Mundawar area of Alwar.

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje condoled the death of Choudhary, saying it was a personal loss for the entire BJP family.

In a series of tweets, she said Choudhary was a popular and active leader of Alwar and prayed for peace of the departed soul.

Sixty-four-year-old Choudhary, diagnosed for swine flu and later liver diseases, was getting treatment at the private hospital for about a month.

He was a three-time MLA from Alwar district--in 2003, 2008 and 2013.
