Mumbai, April 18: Indian run machine Virat Kohli has become the first player in the game to complete 5,000 runs in T20 format for a single team.

Kohli achieved the feat during Match 14 of the VIVO IPL 2018 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Skipper Kohli now has 5,043 runs for RCB, having played for them in IPL and Champions League T20.

Earlier in the evening, when he reached 33, he became the highest run-getter in IPL history, surpassing Suresh Raina’s tally of 4,558. He also has 424 runs for them in CLT20. Playing in his 168th match for RCB, Kohli now has 5,000 runs at 38 and he has got the runs at strike rate touching 132. Raina comes second on the list with 4,558 runs for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Kohli reached his 34th fifty for RCB. Chasing 214, RCB finished on 167 for 8.
