YSRCP MPs met President Kovind; What about other parties?

New Delhi, Apr 17: The Andhra Pradesh Opposition YSR Congress party MPs met with President Ramesh Kovind here on Tuesday. The resignation of five Lok Sabha members of the party and the circumstances that led to the president are explained.

YSRCP MPs have explained President the struggle for the four years for the special status of the AP and the wishes of the people. On the contrary, they have submitted a memorandum on all issues including the situation in the state to the President.

Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, YV Subba Reddy, Varaprasad, YS Avinash Reddy and Rajya Sabha member Vamireddy Prabhakar Reddy are among those who meet the President.

After meeting with the President, MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said, "We have explained everything to the president. He said the Parliament wanted to implement the division guarantees as promised during bifurcation of states. PM Narendra Modi said in a public meeting in Tirupati that he will give a special capital for the AP along with special status. This promise was ignored by the Prime Minister."

The MP said that "the special status is the right of the people of AP. We still want to implement partition guarantees. President Kodind assured me that they will do as per rules of constituency I can do", he added.
