Hyderabad December 10: Proffesor M. Kodandaram,Chairman of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) was chairman Professor M Kodandaram described that the state government is neglecting the future of lakhs of students, who had fought to achieve statehood for Telangana.

The TJAC chairman asked the government to help the students, who are being affected by the non-clearance of their pending fee dues in private colleges. On the occasion of 'Telangana Athma Gaurava Dinam' (Telangana Self Respect Day), which falls on Dec 9, on which day in 2009 the then UPA government at Centre had announced that it would begin the process for the formation of the new state, 'Telangana Udyama Vedika' headed by Cheruku Sudhakar organised a discussion on the topic, 'Students' movement and December 9 announcement at Basheerbagh Press Club here on Friday.

Kodandaram explained that students movement had played a key role in forcing the the then UPA government to announce on Dec 9, 2009, that it would initiate the process for formation of Telangana.

"Students Joint Action Committee was the first JAC which was form to exert pressure on the erstwhile Union government to accord statehood to Telangana. Only after the participation of students JAC in the Telangana movement did, all other sections like advocates, teachers and employees formed their own JACs to achieve statehood for the region," he said.

Kodandaram said, "It is an indisputable fact that students played a key role in the Telangana movement. Students organised several protests even before KCR's fast for achieving statehood to the region. Taking exception to government's delay in releasing of funds for fee reimbursement dues. It may effects the future of students of graduation.

Finally, he suggested that,"Clear the all fee reimbursement dues as soon as possible".
