Temporary solution for Money Replacement...

Hyderabad December 9 : Banks find a small solution to the scarcity of the currency notes due to demonetization. They are now handing over a portion of money in coins, because of shortage of currency notes.

Banks are hard pressed for cash and customers are feeling the pinch as they have to carry heavy bags of coins home. Now the withdrawal limit is still standing up to Rs. 24,000 for a week.

On Thursday, some customers in few public sector banks with currency chests were in shock as branches offered them `Rs. 10 coins which needed to be carried in a bag.

In previous days, people avoid to take the change of money, especially coins. Presently they are accepting these coins as lottery of a bumper offer. Somehow, it is atleast relieving to get coins replacing the currency notes.

"When I asked for Rs 500 notes, the manager offered me Rs 10 coins as he did not have Rs 500 notes," said one of the bank customer. Its not just public sector banks (PSB) alone, but the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) too did the same with citizens in its exchange counter.
