Smith, Warner get 12-months ban

Capetown, Mar 28: Australian cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner were suspended by Cricket Australia (CA) on Wednesday for 12 months each and Cameron Bancroft for nine months over a ball-tampering scandal in South Africa, the media reported.

Board of Control for Cricket in India has barred Steve Smith and David Warner from participating in IPL, reports.

Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft have the right to challenge their verdicts and also the duration of their penalties via a CA code of behavior hearing with an independent commissioner.

An official announcement of their penalties is expected to be announced soon.
