Mahanati gets new release date

Hyderabad, Mar 18: The Tollywood much-awaited movie and legendary actress Savitri's biopic 'Mahanati' have finally officially announced the release date of the flick. The movie which was supposed to be released on 29th March has now been pushed to May 9th due to delay in shooting.

Directed by Nag Ashwin of 'Yevade Subramanyam' fame, the movie has Keerthy Suresh reprising the role of legendary actress Savitri, while Dulquer Salmaan plays her husband and actor Gemini Ganesan.

Senior actor Mohan Babu will be playing the SVR and Naga Chaitanya will be reprising his grandfather ANR’s role, while NTR’s role will be digitally inserted.

whereas Samantha Akkineni will be seen playing journalist. Apart from them, the film has other stars like Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salman, Shalini Pandey, Vikram Prabhu and others in supporting role.

The film is being bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies banner and Mickey J Mayer is composing the music. Mahanati is expected to hit the theaters in the last week of March in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
