Four Tirumala pilgrims killed in Road accident

Chittoor, Mar 12: Here is a tragic incident has occurred while four persons were killed on the spot and four others sustained serious injuries when a tempo-traveler was hit by a private travels bus near Madavan Garden in Bangarupalyam, 28 km from Chittoor.

According to Chittoor SP Rajasekhara Babu, a group of pilgrims consisting of nine members of Kasaragod, Kerala state, were traveling in a tempo-traveler to visit Tirumala. The SP said when the driver of the ill-fated vehicle reportedly tried to overtake a container passing towards Tirupati, a private travels bus coming in opposite direction speedily hit the tempo.

In the incident, three men and one woman of the tempo were killed on the spot and four others sustained serious injuries. The bodies and the injured were rushed to Bangarupalem Government Hospital. The identities of victims are yet to be ascertained.

A message was passed to Kerala State DGP for due follow-up. After completion of the post-mortem, all the four bodies were handed over to the kin of the deceased, the SP added. A case was registered in Bangarupalem police station.
