Another Negligence in UP Hospital

Bihar, Mar 11: In yet another case of medical negligence in Uttar Pradesh, the severed leg of a victim was allegedly used at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Jhansi as a pillow to prop him up.

Ghanshyam (28) claimed that the hospital staff put the severed leg under his head as a pillow. He had lost the leg in the accident on Saturday and was brought to the hospital in a critical condition.

Two doctors and two nurses have been suspended while a departmental enquiry has been ordered against one doctor in the medical negligence case.

However, the medical college’s principal, Sadhna Kaushik, said a four-member committee has been formed to find out who put the severed leg under the patient’s head. Taking cognisance of the alleged incident, state medical education minister Ashutosh Tandon, late last night, directed suspension of two doctors and two nurses with immediate effect on the ground of laxity in discharging their duty.
