New Tripura CM takes Oath

Agartala Mar 9: Bharatiya Janata Party CM Candidate Biplab Deb, 48 has taken oath as Chief Minister of Tripura after the BJP has won the elections in the state and has decimated the left after a 25-year rule. Jishnu Debbarma has taken oath as deputy CM of the state.

The BJP along with the IPFT has won 43 seats in the state.The oath-taking ceremony was attended by PM Modi and other senior politicians.

PM has addressed a rally and said that "Today is a historic day for Tripura. It feels like the state is celebrating Diwali. We are lighting the lamp of progress and prosperity. There is new vigor and enthusiasm here. I congratulate all those who have taken oath and wish them the very best as they begin their work."

He has added that "Those in the opposition in Tripura today have been in power for long. They surely have a lot of experience. Ours is a new and fresh team. "

"In age too, our team is younger. They have anubhav (experience), we have Umang (joy) and utsah(enthusiasm). We have to work together for the progress of Tripura."he added.
