Sachin Tendulkar wishes Ustad Zakir Hussain

Mumbai, Mar 09: One of the proud faces of India, Ustad Zakir Hussain will celebrate his birthday on Friday as he turns 67. Hussain was born on March 9, 1951, to the legendary tabla player Alla Rakha Qureshi in the city of Mumbai.

In this regard, Sachin Tendulkar wished him on his official twitter handler, "Happiest birthday to one of the nicest human beings I have ever met, @ZakirHtabla. May you have a great year ahead. Here's a little throwback to our Jugalbandi"

Even as he accompanied the many music greats, Hussain made the tabla a high-profile music instrument with his electrifying performances and stage charm

In 2007 readers' polls from both Modern Drummer and Drum! magazines named him Best World Music and Best Worldbeat Drummer respectively.
