SC Crucial Judgement in Love Jihad case

New Delhi Mar 8: The Supreme Court of India on Thursday has delivered a Crucial Judgement in a Controversial case of Love Jihad. The Court has restored the marriage of women Hadiya with her husband Shafin Jahan. Earlier the Kerala High Court had annulled her marriage.

The SC had said that "its decision is based on Hadiya's statement that she converted to Islam out of her own free will. It asked how can the HC annul a marriage between two consenting adults under Article 226 of the Constitution."

The Court has also said that " The NIA INvestigation would go on in the allegations but not on the marriage". CJI Deepak Misra has said that "Marriage, plurality and individual choices should be zealously guarded against State intervention and had rejected her father's version that she was brainwashed to convert to Islam ."

Earlier Her Father had also complained that "she would be taken to out of the country to join ISIS and the court had ordered NIA Investigation in the case".
