Telangana Govt announces awards to 20 Prominent women

Hyderabad, March 06:The Telangana government has announced awards to 20 eminent women from various fields on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8.

Those different fields are education, medical, sports, literature, dance, music, agriculture and community services.

Gymnastics Bronze Medalist Aruna Reddy, movie director Nandini Reddy, Hyderabad Metro Rail Driver Supriya Sanam, Delhi RTC driver Saritha, revolutionary songs singer Yadnuri Padma, Women's Empowerment Rupa Bhadramma and among others have been selected for the award.

The Celebration Committee, which was set up by the Government chaired by Women and Child Welfare Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, has selected the women for the awards. The awardees with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh will be honoured on International Women's Day, officials sources said here on Tuesday.
