AP inks over 734 agreements, generates 11 lakh jobs

Visakhapatnam, Feb 27: The three-day CII Partnership Summit, which concluded here on Monday, saw the signing of 734 agreements for the investment of Rs 4.39 lakh crore and generating 11 lakh jobs.

Informing this at the valedictory function, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu exuded confidence that 90 percent of them would be implemented.

Efforts would be made to live up to the expectations of investors from the other parts of the country and abroad, and all clearances would be accorded within 21 days. Naidu also said work could begin on the 22nd day.

One of the prominent projects proposed are Reliance group's over Rs 50,000-crore mobile phone unit in Tirupati to manufacture one million cell phones and an electronics cluster in Amaravati. The group would also invest a great deal in the oil sector.

"Google signed a MoU to provide connectivity to villages in the State, while the Adani group is constructing a greenfield port and setting up an SEZ at Bhavanapadu in Srikakulam district," he said.
