Kadiyam urges centre to sanction IIM in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Feb 21:The Telangana Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari in a meeting held in New Delhi on Tuesday submitted the proposal to sanction an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad to the union minister of human resource development Prakash Javadekar.

During the meeting, Kadiyam Srihari, who headed the Central Advisory Board of Education sub-committee on girl child education also submitted a report in this regard to the Union Minister.



The Minister's office issued a press release according to which the sub-committee recommended provision of mid-day meals, uniforms up to intermediate level and the establishment of Gurukul schools for girls belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe in Telangana.

Also, it was proposed that the number of students must be increased from 100 to 200 in model schools.

The Minister also explained the need to extend Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas up to class XII in a bid to curb child marriages and even reduce the dropout rate among girls.

According to the reports, the Union Minister has responded positively to the recommendations.
