DMK blames Tamil Nadu Government for reduced allocation of cauvery water

Bengaluru Feb 16: The Supreme Court on Friday has delivered a Key long-standing issue of Cauvery river water sharing between Karnataka and Tamilnadu states.

The court in its judgment has ordered the Karnataka government to release 177 TMC of Cauvery water to Tamilnadu and the Kannada state would get an increased allocation of 14.75 TMc water and Bengaluru city would get an additional 4.7 TMC water which would be used for drinking purposes. The Total allocation of Karnataka is now 284.5 TMC.

However, the opposition party in the Tamilnadu state has blamed the ruling party for the SC Judgement.

DMK Leader Stalin has said that "AIADMK government has lost the rights that Kalaignar achieved for Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu has been cheated. I urge TN CM to call an all-party meeting with farmers' association".

He said that "I am disappointed as the state's share has been reduced."
