Tamilnadu Company offers Rs 1 Cr to TTD-run BIRRD Trust

Tirupati, Feb 16: The Madurai-based TVS Sri Chakra Tyres Managing Director Ms. Sobhana Ramachandran has donated Rs 1 crore to TTD's BIRRD Trust here on Thursday.
The donation is in the form of a Demand Draft was handed over to Tirumala Joint Executive Officer KS Sreenivasa Raju by her.
Under Sri Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Trust, a premier medical institute, will treat patients suffering from polio mellitus, cerebral palsy, congenital anomalies, spinal injuries, and the orthopedically handicapped. BIRRD make use of state-of-the-art medical technology and provides services to the poor, at no cost.
It also distributes artificial limbs, calipers and aids, free of cost, to the needy and the poor. Food and medicines are supplied free of cost.
TTD accepts generous contributions from the philanthropists to meet the expenses of inpatients undergoing medication in the BIRRD.
