Tollywood producers/Distributors to hold talks with Digital Service Providers

Hyderabad Feb 4: Currently the crisis developed in Tollywood film industry has intensified as the TFCC had already decided to stop producing movies and producers and distributors have decided not to release any movies from March 1.

The film chamber has taken this decision after the Digital service Providers have demanded excess rates for displaying film in theatres. The producers and distributors have earlier tried to consult them but they have not responded.

Recently producers and distributors have formulated new policy and according to a new policy the rates would be reduced in various slabs according to Rs 7,500, Rs 2,500 with a gap of six months to make if affordable for producers and distributors.

Sources added that "If DSPs such as Qube, UFO, etc don't agree with producers then they would invite new partners which have shown interest to display the movies at cheaper rates because of the newly developed fiber grid project by AP and TS governments".
