Funds allocated for development of Mumabi and Bengaluru Suburban

New Delhi Feb 2: Finance minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday has presented the budget. The FM has allocated a huge amount of Rs1.48 lakh crore for Indian Railways to raise its carrying capacity and improve the train travel experience.

FM has also announced that "Mumbai's suburban rail system is being expanded at cost of Rs10,000 crore, and an additional suburban network worth Rs40,000 crore was also being planned. Similarly, 160 km of rail network worth Rs17,000 crore has been planned for Bengaluru."

Jaitley has added that "the foundation stone for Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet train has been laid and a new institute to train people would come up at Vadodara ".

He has also added that "The works on Dedicated Freight corridor have been fast-tracked and would be completed soon".
