Kohli Century leads India a comfortable Win

Durban, Feb 02: Captain Virat Kohli struck a stylish century to lead India to a comfortable six-wicket victory over South Africa in the first One-Day International on Thursday and end the host's 17-match winning streak on home soil.

Chasing a target of 270 runs, the Indians crossed the line in 45.3 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the six-match series.

Kohli scored 112 runs off 119 deliveries which included 10 hits to the fence while Rahane scored a steady 79 off 86 balls.

A record 189-run third-wicket partnership between Kohli, who made 112, and Ajinkya Rahane (79) set up India's victory at the start of the six-match series. Kohli reached his 33rd ODI ton off 105 balls.

Earlier, skipper Faf du Plessis' ninth ODI century helped South Africa recover from a minor collapse to post a competitive 269/8 against India.
