Big shock for Shah Rukh Khan, his farmhouse attached by IT dept

Mumbai, Jan 31: The I-T department has provisionally attached Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow in Alibaug.

The IT officials said that terming it benami property and filed a report before an adjudication authority to confirm the attachment.

The said transaction falls under the definition of "benami transaction as per the Section 2 (9) of the PBPT Act, where Deja Vu Farms has acted as benamidar for the ultimate benefits of SRK. Thus, the actor is a beneficiary for the said under the prescribed law," said IT officials.



The tax department alleged that Deja Vu Farms had so far not shown any income from farming activity. It also alleged that the firm had taken unsecured loans of Rs 8.4 crore from Khan for the purchase of land in Alibaug.

Khan needs to file a reply before the authority within 90 days. Once the adjudication authority confirms the attachment, I-T authorities can initiate criminal action too.
