North Korea calls off Joint Cultural event ahead of Winter Olympic games

Seoul Jan 30: In a major development North Korea had called off the Joint Cultural event which was supposed to be held by North and South Korea Together on Feb 4 ahead of Winter Olympic games which be starting from Feb 9.

Earlier both the countries have agreed to send a joint team in sports in winter Olympics and during the new year North Korean President kim Jong Un had said that "we are willing to talk with South Korea and send a joint team in winter Olympics".

However, the event was canceled by North Korean and it has cited the Biased and false media reports of South Korean media regarding the internal celebration of North Korea ahead of winter Olympic games.

Earlier South Korean media had reported that "concern that the joint events could be in violation of UN Security Council sanctions in place against Pyongyang over its nuclear weapons programme."

The Media had also reported that " a military parade possibly taking place on February 8 to mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean People's Army".

North Korea had said that "South Korean media had insulted our internal celebration and the parade had nothing to do with games ".

South Korea had finally had said that "North Korea must respect the agreed commitments so that both countries can show a unified team spirit in upcoming games".
