Quality of School education improved

New Delhi Jan 30: Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley had tabled the economic survey for the financial year 2017-2018.The Survey had spoken about key issues and said that Education was the priority
segment for government and there has been a significance increase in indicators which measure education in elementary school level . The Indicators are student-classroom-ratio (SCR) , pupil-teacher-ratio (PTR).

The Survey has noted that the following have improved at elementary school
# Student enrollment levels
# student completion rates
# physical construction such as construction of school buildings, drinking water facilities
# teacher appointments

The Survey has added that "At all-India level, percentage of schools with SCR greater than 30 students declined from 43% in 2009-10 to 25.7% in 2015-16."

However survey has pointed out that SCR has improved in all states but there are variations in PTR in various states and they should address these issues.
