Bombs recovered in raid after kasganj violence- Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh, Jan 28: The Uttar Pradesh police on Sunday recovered crude bombs during raid at the residence of an accused in connection with the Kasganj violence in which a 16-year-old boy was killed in clashes following stone-pelting on a motorcycle rally on Republic Day. Meanwhile, the internet services remain suspended in the region till 10 PM today.

Briefing media about the raid, the Inspector General, Sanjeev Kumar, said, "The situation is under control now. Accused have been identified and are going to be nabbed soon, one country made bomb and pistol also recovered from residence of one of the accused."

Earlier in the day, OP Singh, UP DGP, had informed that patrolling has been intensified in the area. "Situation in Kasganj is under control. No incidents have taken place in the last few hours. A number of people were arrested, patrolling has been intensified, priority is to maintain law and order," he said. However, a report says that in the first incidence of violence on Sunday, a shop was set on fire in the Uttar Pradesh town.
