In exchange of $25 billion fund for wall, Trump to accept DACA

United States President Donald Trump's proposal to Congress includes a path to citizenship to young undocumented immigrants in exchange of $25 billion funding to create a wall on Mexico border. The latest move could settle long-pending issue after Trump ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in September last year. The Obama-era legislation barred the government from forcibly deporting young children to their countries.

The proposal is likely to be introduced to the Senate on February 6 next month. The White House officials said that Congress's best chance to fix the immigration system that would benefit recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA.

"This truly represents a bi-partisan compromise position. We have no doubt that if this legislation were brought to the floor, it would easily garner 60 votes," an official said.
