Badminton Player K Srikanth Honourd with Padma Sri

Guntur Jan 26: The Union Government on Thursday has announced the recipients of Padma Awardees and Badminton player K Srikanth has received PadmaSri. The Player is a native of Andhra Pradesh.

Srikanth has achieved many records in badminton in past few years.The player has won six titles last year including four Super Series and is looked upon as a future Olympic champion. He has won French Open, Denmark Open, Australian Open, Indonesia Open, India Open and China Open last year.

He also finished runner-up in last year’s Singapore Open. The player's father Mr. Venkata Sesha Krishna has expressed happiness and has said that "Srikanth had won several tournaments due to his arduous efforts, and the country was recognizing his services by conferring the Padma Shri on him and has also thanked his coach P Gopichand".
