Gold prices hits 14 months high, silver price too raises

Gold prices have hit a 14-month high selling at Rs 31, 450 per 10 gram. Traders said it will keep spiralling in the next 15 days.

"In the last 15 days gold prices have gone up by 5 per cent and in the next 10-15 days it is expected to gain another 2-3 per cent," said Rahul Gupta, Chairman cum Managing Director, PP Jewellers and Diamonds

Gupta explained that the rise in the price of gold was due to a slip in dollar in the international market.

In the national capital, gold of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity shot up by Rs 350 each to Rs 31,450 and Rs 31,300 per ten gram, respectively, a level last seen on November 9, 2016.

Meanwhile, silver also touched the Rs 41,000-mark owing to an increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.
