PM Modi urges people to register as voters

New Delhi Jan 25: National voters Day is being celebrated today on Jan 25 and the election commission has held several camps where voters can come forward and register themselves and also update their names in the list.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday had urged the people eligible to vote to register themselves as voters in large numbers to strengthen the Indian democracy. He had also congratulated the Election Commission on its anniversary.

PM has tweeted that " urge all the eligible voters, particularly youngsters, to register themselves and strengthen our democracy with their participation. The power of a vote is immense."

The National Voters Day is observed on Jan 25 to mark the establishment of the Election Commission on this day in 1950, a day before India became a republic.
