Tamilians Flock to watch Padmavat movie amid protests

Coimbatore Jan 25: The Tamil version of controversial Film Padmavat was released in Tamilnadu on Thursday. However many organizations have protested against the release of the film.

Activists of Sri Ram Sena and Hindu Sena protested in various cities such as Coimbatore, Madurai and some parts of Chennai, however, police have detained the protestors and the movie was released peacefully.

The security was also increased outside the theatres and the police personnel have assured that violence would not be spared. The Movie received good applause from the audience and they said that there were was no distortion of the history.

The protestors have raised slogans and they said that film has hurt their sentiments and demanded the ban on the film.

Padmavat is a film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles.
