23 year old arrested for raping and murdering 8 year old girl

A 23-year-old man was arrested for brutally raping and murdering a minor girl in Kasur city in Pakistan's Punjab province. The accused was arrested when his DNA matched with the sample found from the victim's body, Geo News reported, citing the sources. The accused, Imran Ali, also confessed to the crime before the investigation agency.

Shockingly, the DNA of the accused also matched with the samples taken from seven other girls who were raped or sexually assaulted in last few years, in the same area. The police said that the accused knew the victim's family and would often frequent the house to meet them.

The accused was taken into custody two weeks ago but was released after the victim's family pleaded that he couldn't be the culprit.
