Protests held against screening of Padmavat Movie

Visakhapatnam Jan 24: People from Several organizations such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad, RSS, Bajrang Dal, Marwari and Agarwal associations, and Maharana Pratap Foundation have jointly organized protests in the city against film 'Padmavaat' and demanded it be banned.

The protestors have said that the film has distorted history.The protesters assembled at the Gandhi statue in front of the GVMC main office and raised slogans against the film. They later proceeded to the Collectorate and submitted a memorandum demanding that the film should not be screened in the country.

Padmavat is a Bollywood film Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh in lead roles and The film would also be released in Telugu on Jan 25.
