Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed seek protection from arrest

Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief and Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed on Tuesday sought protection from arrest ahead of the visit by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions monitoring team as he filed a petition in Lahore high court saying the Pakistan government might arrest him at the behest of India and the United States.

The terrorist filed a petition through his lawyer AK Dogar seeking an order to the government, which stops it from arresting him and taking action against his organisations JuD and Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation.

"The PML-N government wants to arrest me at the behest of United States and India," he said. He added the United States and the Indian lobby active in Pakistan were trying to prove that he hatched the conspiracy for the Mumbai terror attack. He further said that the provincial government of Punjab had detained him for 10 months without any legal ground.
