Melbourne, Jan 22: Top seed player Simona Halep and German tennis star Angelique Kerber have entered quarter-finals of the Australian Open after winning their women's singles clashes here on Monday.
Romanian tennis star Halep has won the pre-quarters against Naomi Osaka of Japan 6-3, 6-2. The tennis star will now face the winner of Karolina Pliskova and Barbora Strycova in quarterfinals.

Kerber, German player had also entered the final 8 by defeating Taiwanese Hsieh Su-Wei 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.The tennis star will now take on America's Madison Keys for a place in the semi-finals.
