Reliance Jio gets 160 million subscribers and record data consumption

Mumbai, Jan 22: Reliance Jio has shaken India with their best data prices in Country. It might be offering the cheapest data service among all telecom operators in the country, but it is also turning out to be a profitable business model for Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries.
Jio said in a statement that "its subscriber base sits at 160 million users as of December 31, 2017, and its average revenue per user sits at 154 rupees, or $2.41, while each user consumes 9.6GB on average every month".
The company says its Rs 399 tariff plan offering 1GB data per day for 84 days remains the most successful recharge plan. It also revealed that during the third quarter, the total wireless data traffic on its network touched 431 crore GB.
