TS:Building plans to be approved or rejected within 21 days

Hyderabad Jan 21: In a Move to further ease of doing business in the state the Telangana Government has announced that a decision that approval or rejection of Building plans must be completed within 21 days and in case of delay in granting permission, the application will be deemed approved.

A GO in this regard was issued by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ministry on Friday. The major highlights of the GO are

# A penalty of Rs.1,000 per day will be levied on the sanctioning official if he fails to approve or reject the application within 21 days.
# new Timeframe and rules were are also prescribed
# Software changes in the online system have also been prescribed
# Additional Information if necessary from applicant must be sought in 10 days
# Instruction or scrutiny of construction sites must be completed within 7 days
# No inspection of the site is required if the site is located in an approved or regularised layout
# Verification of ownership documents should be completed by the Land Section, Revenue Section of HMDA and GHMC within seven days.
# licenses of architects, engineers and surveyors will be canceled if they submit wrong plans or give faulty information more than three times

The above decisions were taken after Telangana Municipality and Urban Development Minister KTR held a review meeting and expressed his displeasure over the delay in issuing construction permits and building approvals.
