Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 struck Kokrajhar in Assam

An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on Richter Scale struck Kokrajhar in Assam during wee hours on Saturday. The tremors were felt at 06:44 AM. There were no reports of any casualty or injury at the time of filing this report.

The earthquake originated at 10 km depth in Gauripur. Its epicenter is located at latitude 26.193 degree north and longitude 89.931 degree east. The tremors were felt in Bhutan as well.

In August 2017, a slight intensity quake of 3.4 magnitude shook Guwahati in Assam. There was no immediate report of any loss to life or property.
